Instant Poha Porridge is an easy, no-cook, quick poha porridge recipe made with poha aka flattened rice, fruits, and milk. This porridge is super fast to make within 10 minutes, and it doesn't require any cooking. Hence it is ideal when you travel with your baby or toddler. It can also be served as a quick breakfast for babies from 7 months.

Instant Red Poha Cereal Powder | Instant Baby Food | 8+ Months is a quick, nutritious, and easy-to-prepare meal for babies who are 7+ months and older.

Made from flattened rice (poha), this cereal is rich in carbohydrates, providing an excellent source of energy for growing babies. It is easy to digest and can be customized with simple ingredients to enhance both flavor and nutrition.

The cereal powder is typically made by roasting poha until crisp and then grinding it into a fine powder. Optional ingredients like roasted Bengal gram (for added protein), cardamom (for mild flavor). Once prepared, the powder can be stored in an airtight container for quick use.

Ingredients

Thick Red poha, Roasted Gram Dal, Almonds, Cashew, Green Cardamom

Instructions to Use

Ingredients:

  • Instant Poha Cereal Powder – 2 tablespoons
  • Piping hot water – ½ cup (adjust based on desired consistency)
  • Optional add-ins: mashed fruit (like banana or apple puree), a little ghee, or jaggery for sweetness

Instructions:

  1. Measure the cereal powder: Take 2 tablespoons of the Instant Poha Cereal Powder and place it in a clean bowl.
  2. Add hot water: Pour ½ cup of piping hot water over the powder. Stir well to combine and ensure there are no lumps.
  3. Let it sit: Cover the bowl and let the mixture sit for 2-3 minutes. This allows the Poha powder to absorb the water and soften into a smooth, porridge-like consistency.
  4. Stir again: After a few minutes, stir the mixture thoroughly. Add more water if it’s too thick or a little extra powder if it’s too runny.
  5. Optional additions: If desired, you can mix in mashed fruit, a teaspoon of ghee for flavor and healthy fats, or a tiny amount of jaggery for sweetness.
  6. Serve: Ensure the porridge has cooled to a comfortable temperature for your baby before serving.
