Instructions to Use

Jowar Roti (Sorghum Flatbread):

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Jowar flour (sorghum flour)
  • Water, as needed
  • Salt, to taste
  • Ghee or oil, for cooking

Instructions:

1.Prepare the Dough:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine Jowar flour and salt. Gradually add water while kneading to form a smooth and pliable dough. The dough should be soft but not sticky.

2. Shape the Rotis:

  • Divide the dough into small lemon-sized balls. Dust each ball with Jowar flour and flatten it slightly.
  • Place a dough ball on a clean, flat surface and roll it out into a thin circle using a rolling pin. Dust with more flour as needed to prevent sticking.

3.Cook the Rotis:

  • Heat a tawa or skillet over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the rolled-out roti onto the tawa.
  • Cook for about 1-2 minutes on one side until small bubbles start to form.
  • Flip the roti and cook for another 1-2 minutes until both sides are cooked through and lightly browned.

4.Serve:

  • Remove the cooked roti from the tawa and brush with ghee or oil if desired. Serve hot with your favorite curry, dal, or yogurt.

These Jowar Rotis are not only delicious but also gluten-free and packed with nutrition, making them a perfect accompaniment to any meal. Enjoy the wholesome goodness of Jowar flour in this traditional and flavorful dish!
